A Theory of the Eerie (CoffeeHour)

"Abstract-in-a-tweet": This paper argues that eeriness is an at least partly epistemic emotion. What makes different kinds of experiences eerie is the judgment that the eerie situation might contain an invisible threat to the experiencer's epistemic worldview or physical safety.
